Citrine Support began as a small emotional support practice with the simple intention of bringing a little more care and connection into this world. Over the years, the company has blossomed into a well-established counselling center serving a wide-ranging clientele with diverse backgrounds and distinctive challenges. Counselling is not only a space to heal and strengthen relationships; it is also a place to learn strategies that directly improve communication, resolve conflicts, and manage relationship distress.


Grief and Bereavement Support

The loss of a loved one – parent, child, or life partner – can be the most traumatic and devastating experience one endures in their lifetime. Citrine Support provides care, compassion and an empathizing environment in which clients learn healthy coping strategies and grief management techniques. These skills help individuals navigate the stress and restructuring of life after a loved one's passing.

Mental Health Concerns and Substance Use

Diagnosis can be beneficial, but they can also make people feel stigmatized, limited, and out of place. At Citrine Support you are more than your diagnosis. Our counselling focuses on the client – Who you are, how you feel, and what you need – rather than the diagnosis.

What therapy is best for me?

The best therapy for you will depend on the challenges you are facing and what you’re hoping to take away from your sessions. During your first consultation, we will discuss your personal concerns, goals, and preferences. From here we can recommend a more appropriate type of therapy for you.

Our first session is really an opportunity to get to know each other and begin building a rapport. Therapy is an ongoing process and you will have many opportunities to discuss concerns in future sessions. That being said, we have four goals during your initial consultation…
1.  Get to know a little more about your counsellor : credentials, experience, and a little bit about their approach to therapy – this helps build rapport and trust.
2.  Briefly review our confidentiality policy : this informs you of what information will be kept private and the extreme situations in which information must be shared.
3.  Discuss your concerns : at this time we are curious about what brought you to therapy and any questions or concerns you may have regarding the counselling process.
4.  Set goal(s) – we will set at least one goal together : short term or long term or if you’re up to it both! This will give your counsellor a clearer idea of what you’re hoping to get out of each session and how they might tailor their therapeutic approach to reach said goals.

Confidentiality is key to building a trusting relationship between counsellor and client. We take privacy incredibly seriously at Citrine Support, and with that in mind here is everything you should know about confidentiality and our sessions…
1. All information shared during your session is kept completely confidential!
2. We will explain our confidentiality policy at the start of our initial consultation and answer any and all questions you may have.
3. There are specific legal and safety limitations where confidentiality must be breached. These exceptions include…
Risk of harm to self or others
Abuse and/or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult
By order of a court of law

Please contact us as soon as possible when planning to reschedule or cancel a session. We have a strict 24 hours notice policy in which your session cannot be rescheduled or cancelled. To avoid being charged for a session you cannot attend, please give a minimum of 24 hours notice.
